Macodes Petola is a terrestrial orchid, found growing on the forest floor in soil. Prized for its foliage, rather than its flowers, the leaves are green with yellow veins that run parallel to the centre of the leaf. It a delicate beautoful plant often grown in a terrarium but with some basic care thrives as a normal houseplant.
The small flowers are white with twisting yellow columns and grow on upright stalks, the flowers last a month or more.

Macodes Petola is easy to care for, suitable for beginners with the right care. Good bright but inidrect light, careful watering and avoid draughts and you should be fine. imagine this plant growing on the forest floor in the tropics and try and recreate the space at home.
How should I water this houseplant?
Water when the top few inches of soil feel dry to the touch, soak through and leave until dry again. Be careful to make sure that the plant isn’t left sitting in water as it won’t like that! Rotting and yellowing leaves is a sure sign its been over watered.
Should I feed this houseplant?
Yes, you can water once a month during spring and summer, try our vegan, organic plant food.
Is this plant toxic to pets?
Yes, this could cause problems if a pet nibbled it.
