Madagascar Palm is a fascinating houseplant, its trunk expands with water which helps it survive in really hot, dry climates. The name ‘Pachypodium’ means ‘thick foot’ because of its water-storing capabilities.
The leaves of this style plant burst from the crown and drop down as they grow, giving Pachypodium Lamerei its characteristic looks and charm. They are variegated - dark green and cream stripe - giving it a striking look.
Madagascar Palms look wonderful in a room as an eye catching centrepiece or with a group of houseplants. The palm shape of this large houseplant hints at the tropical and makes you think of hot summer holidays and blue skies!
